Arbor News
Arbor Insulation is happy to announce the availability of the Agribalance Open Cell foam from Demilec.  Agribalance is an open-cell spray foam product from Demilec, which is produced from a mix of seven vegitable oils and recycled pop bottles. The material is an open cell with .8 lb density, slightly heavier than the conventional .5 lb foam. This provides a slightly higher R value, with R4/inch instead of R3.8/inch. The material expands more slowly allowing for a slightly more uniform finish when sprayed in a cavity.

Convective Heat Loss In Attics
Another location for significant heat loss is in the attic. This fact is especially true for loose fill insulation such as blown cellulose and fiberglass.

Convective heat loss occurs in loose fill insulation when dense cold air drops and lighter warm air rises through the insulation. Loose fill insulation such as fiberglass, cellulose and rock wool do not control this type of heat loss. Spray foam insulation does control this type of heat loss because there is no air movement through the insulation material.
